MILO® TIMELINE

1964

THE BEGINNING OF MILO® IN THE PHILIPPINES
Named after the first olympic champion wrestler of croton, Milon. The MILO® Legacy of bringing out champions began. Introduced in the Philippines during this year, MILO® became the nutritious drink that energizes every Filipino kid to begin their champion journey of bringing out the champion within.

1974

1974 NATIONAL MILO® MARATHON
MILO® created an avenue for every Filipino to engage in running called National MILO® Marathon which became the longest-running marathon in the Philippines. With over 3.5 million champions crossing the finish line, this became the celebration of bringing out champions in life through sports.

1983

THE LAUNCH OF MILO® SPORTS CLINIC
The MILO® legacy of bringing out champions in sports continues by providing Filipino kids with sports clinics that promotes values they can carry for life. Initially offering Basketball and Swimming, the MILO® Sports Clinic has grown to provide 21 different sports such as Volleyball and Taekwondo.

THE BIG START OF MILO® LITTLE OLYMPICS
MILO® began to partner with public and private schools all over the Philippines, giving student-athletes in the elementary and secondary Division the opportunity to bring out champions through sports. With almost 400,000 participants, this became the country's biggest national tournament open to all students.

1991

MILO® BECAME THE OFFICIAL DRINK OF THE 30TH SEA GAMES
Geared towards bringing out champions in sports, MILO® became the official drink of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. This monumental step became a beacon for Filipino athletes to continue their champion journey in the competition and in turn, inspired the nation to bring out the champions in sports.

THE MILO® CHAMP CAMP IS BORN
In partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), MILO® strengthened its ties with communities all over the country with a nationwide tour that teaches the role of sports to every Filipino kid. The MILO® Champ Camp has helped bring out the champion in sports among over 17 million students and counting.

"HELP GIVE SHOES ADVOCACY"
The MILO® legacy of bringing out champions in sports continues with the launch of the "Help Give Shoes Advocacy". This effort provided over 90,000 pairs of shoes to deserving Filipino students to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle and begin their champion journey.

THE START OF CHAMPION HABITS WITH MILO® HOME COURT
As parents adjusted to the new normal and found ways to continue their kid’s champion journey, MILO® launched the MILO® Home Court. In partnership with sports organizations and MILO® Champions, this campaign offered a variety of expertly-developed programs and made sports accessible to kids through online training, remote coaching sessions, and innovative ways to help parents assist their children in their champion journey.

NATIONAL MILO® MARATHON GOES DIGITAL
After coming to a complete stop in 2020, the National MILO® Marathon returns to cater to a wider audience of excited Filipinos who want to start bringing out champions in sports wherever they are. With the integration of technology, the National MILO® Marathon goes digital, through the MILO® DIGI DASH AR Filter for kids, and the Virtual Marathon for those who can’t make it to the physical events, enabling runners to participate anywhere at any time! Fun Fact: The total number of kms ran by all participants in this ecosystem equaled to 450,000km – that's like going around 10x the earth’s circumference!

CELEBRATION OF BRINGING OUT CHAMPIONS IN LIFE FOR 60 YEARS
On its 60th year, MILO® celebrates with outstanding achievements to continue bringing out champions in life through sports. The number of legs for the National MILO® Marathon went up to 15, giving more Filipinos an avenue to continue their champion journey all over the country. MILO® energizes the kids by launching a new, more delicious taste of MILO® with double extracted malt barley, milk, and energy releasing nutrients! MILO® elevates its support for the grassroots and welcomes emerging sports such as eSports.
